Duck Run 3 - In the summer of 2005 an ambitious new community activity was undertaken as 4 The World’s USA volunteer’s along with community members from the towns of Duck Run 3, Belmopan, San Ignacio, and Selena organized and then volunteered many weekends and days in tropical heat to build a classroom and computer lab for the school children from a under developed, remote community in Central Belize.
In the event of a natural disaster such as a hurricane, the new buildings will serve as a shelter. Medical staff and educators will also use the facility to bring basic health care education and vaccinations to village residents. The neighboring community of Selena’s Iguana Creek School has no electrical power. We will bring some students to Duck Run 3 to gain knowledge and experience in the use of computers.
Many of the students as well as parents and friends showed up to work many hard hours in very hot conditions. Together the people of these communities learned and demonstrated true teamwork and admiration of the volunteer experience.  One young mother told her child "You can tell your grandchildren that your grandpa volunteered to build your school” He replied "And I helped too."
