This project will build a new feeding center for
school children. Most of the children must walk
a great distance to school and are unable to get
a meal at school. When this feeding center is built,
a program for food will be available and implemented
by the government of Belize. The Iguana Creek School
feeding center will include a lunch room, kitchen,
and water storage tank. There are 60+ children at
this school.

In the summer of 2004 an ambitious new community activity was undertaken. The president of Phenomenex along with 11 volunteer employees from Phenomenex USA, Germany and the UK organized and then labored for nine days in tropical
heat to build a kitchen and dining room for school children from a poor, remote
community in central Belize. Medical staff will also use the facility to bring
basic health care and vaccinations to village residents. The project was funded, & organized
entirely by Phenomenex and our enthusiastic staff volunteers collected and
brought more than 700 pounds of clothing, books, school supplies, and personal
care items to the children.
